Encino lots are generous and mostly flat, which means a slide gate usually has the backrun it needs and a swing gate has the depth. That widens the options more than in the hills, and it is why the biggest clear openings we build tend to be here.
Being inland, corrosion is not the driver it is on the coast — we do not specify galvanised substrate here unless something else justifies it. Heat and UV on west elevations matter more.
What Encino changes
Wide flat frontages suit slide gates. We measure the backrun on site — it needs to be as long as the opening, and that is the usual constraint.
No coastal salt spec needed. Standard primed and powder-coated steel performs for decades here.
West-facing runs take heavy UV. Dark vinyl distorts, and hardwood needs its re-coat on schedule rather than when it looks tired.
